Jonathan Fournel
French pianist Jonathan Fournel is the winner of the 2021 Queen Elisabeth Competition.
He is a regular partner of artists such as G. Capuçon, A. Dumay, V. Julien-Laferrière and the Hermès and Modigliani quartets. He appears as soloist with numerous orchestras in Europe and Asia - Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Orchestre national de Lorraine, Croatian Radio and Television Symphony, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Belgium National Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra - under conductors S. Jonathan Fournel studied at the Musikhochschule in Saarbrücken, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where he obtained his Master's degree and his Diplôme d'Artiste Interprète in the classes of B. Engerer and M. Dalberto. Since 2016, he has been artist-in-residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Élisabeth de Belgique under the direction of L. Lortie and A. His next CD, due for release in 2022, will be devoted to Brahms' 3rd Sonata and Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel.
