The magic of classical music in the east of France
la magie de la musique classique dans le grand est

by musicians

Five pianists who met at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) and a cellist who met at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels founded the Association La Mélopée in 2024. Their aim was to contribute to the access and development of musical culture in France by organising events in addition to their current activities as artists or teachers: concerts, mediation, educational activities, etc. They want to participate in a new way in the musical life of France, in order to bring to France the classical music that inspires them.

The common thread that runs through both festivals is the desire to make the quality of the concerts and the artists presented the cornerstone of our identity. In addition to this requirement, in both cases we want to enhance the concerts with an event-driven aspect that opens up the relationship between the artists and the audience.

châlons-en-champagne's festival

Our festival invites the people of Châlons-en-Champagne and the Marne to a week of classical music filled with dreams and escapism. Enjoy exceptional concerts featuring talented young musicians alongside renowned artists from both the French and international music scenes. With a focus on sharing, connection, and celebrating local heritage, we invite you to immerse yourself in a rich and profound artistic experience while shining a spotlight on emerging stars of the classical world.

For this ambitious inaugural edition, we’ve curated a diverse program, highlighting lyrical song and piano. Notably, we are honored to welcome Natalie Dessay, accompanied by our patron, Philippe Cassard. Les Songes Musicaux also invites you to rediscover the grandeur of Saint-Étienne Cathedral during our closing concert, featuring the celebrated French trumpeter Romain Leleu and Alma Bettencourt, a rising organist already making waves in France and abroad.

cultural action

The festival also celebrates the region's heritage. Concerts will be held in the city's most iconic venues, with a particular focus on church and cathedral organs. We'll also be showcasing local products through partnerships with regional businesses, offering a truly immersive cultural experience.

By contributing to the artistic influence of the town, our festival will enable residents and visitors alike to discover and rediscover the heritage of Châlons-en-Champagne.

Finally, we want to make music accessible to all. This is why we are developing an educational and cultural action component, particularly for young people and audiences far from concert halls, in collaboration with the association "Les concerts de poche" for the organisation of workshops.
