Martin Jaspard
Born in 2005, Martin Jaspard began his musical journey at the Conservatoire of Gennevilliers. At the age of eight, he joined the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) of Angers in Elisabeth Chaverdian’s class. Alongside his piano studies, he pursued chamber music, accompaniment, and music history/analysis courses.
At thirteen, he performed for the first time with an orchestra, playing Schumann’s concerto, and soon earned several accolades: First Prize at the Mayenne National Competition, First Prize at the Nice Côte d’Azur International Competition in the Junior category (another opportunity to perform with an orchestra in a Haydn concerto), and he was a finalist in the Junior category of the Santa Cecilia Competition in Porto.
In 2021, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in piano, studying under Hortense Cartier-Bresson and Fernando Rossano. The following year, he joined the accompaniment program under Géraldine Dutroncy, and in May 2023, he was admitted to the writing program under Cyrille Lehn, earning a harmony prize. That same year, he completed a chamber music degree and took conducting classes at CNSMDP, which gave him the opportunity to conduct the CNSMDP Laureates Orchestra twice.
His conservatory training has allowed him to benefit from the guidance of renowned musicians such as Thomas Ospital, Thomas Lacôte (harmony/analysis), Emmanuelle Bertrand, Claire Désert, Louis Rodde, and François Salque (chamber music).
Invited to prestigious festivals such as Colmar and Rungis (Piano-Piano Festival), he regularly performs as a soloist or chamber musician in various ensembles.
Passionate about contemporary music and creation, he won a special prize at the Collioure Competition 2022 and enjoys performing works by prominent composers in his musical circle, such as Thierry Escaich. A versatile and complete musician, Martin Jaspard is also interested in composition, all while striving for integrity and authenticity as a performer.
In 2024, he won First Prize at the Brahms International Competition in Detmold.
